  CHAPTER 1

It had been nearly a week with no sign from her partner.

Gabriela had poured through the sensor data. She'd scanned all of her visible screens. She'd turned the satellites to focus more on the area in which he'd left. She still had nothing.

She leaned back in the office chair and her eyes stared out the window. As it had a thousand times before, the last time she saw him played through her mind.

The two of them had been sent as part of a scouting party to investigate this newly discovered world. The rest of the party had been scattered to the ends of the planet, setting up their own little pods and taking their own readings. She and Paul, her partner, were placed in a portable lab in the midst of a vast savanna that backed into a mountainous region. Though the two of them had training in many fields, as one must in a discovery party, her passion was botany.

She was surrounded by alien plant life. She had never been happier.

The mission was to be six weeks long. She and Paul had filled their copious specimen containers with the extraterrestrial plant life, though to Paul's disappointment, they'd yet to find any animal wildlife. They were both looking forward to finding out what the other labs had discovered.

But the day for the rendezvous came and went with no contact from anyone. Though they were both concerned, there was a myriad of reasons this could have happened. The team had practiced for all emergencies.

The second rendezvous date came and went. Gabriela continued her work as it kept her occupied. Paul was growing more and more worried. Instead of working, he took to pacing the small lab for hours at a time.

When the day of the third rendezvous came and there was still no contact, Gabriela calmly pulled out the map and began to plot the quickest way they could get to the other pods. The nearest one was still a hundred miles a way, but they could walk it. It would not be easy and would be across mountainous terrain, but both of the scientists were in excellent shape.

He jerked the map from her and told her she needed to stay. She frowned, this sort of masculine dominance was not common in her society. He seemed to have regressed back to a cave man sort of mentality. She told him as much as he was putting on his breathing mask and packing food.

He shoved her in her seat, hard. His eyes roamed down her body possessively. She felt nude in front of him and did not care for the feeling. He had never looked at her as an object of desire before, but now that they could be the last humans either of them saw, suddenly she became more interesting to him.

He jerked the mask from his face and leaned down, kissing her hard, raw, unwilling. His tongue slipped between her lips and caressed her tongue. She found herself kissing back without realizing it. He was her partner! This sort of fraternization could get them both in major trouble. She didn't need this sort of mark on her record.

Although how much more trouble could they get in?

He pulled away from the kiss and stuffed his mask back on before heading to the airlock. As he stalked off into the savanna, she touched her bruised lip and suddenly wished he'd never left.

  CHAPTER 2

It was now the ninth week of her six week mission. Supplies were holding out, but they wouldn't for much longer. She couldn't concentrate on her work any longer. She was completely alone and it was terrifying. She had to go and see if she could find her partner.

It wasn't because of the kiss, of course. No, that had nothing to do with it. It's just that they were friends. And she had to find out what was going on.

She could sit there and wait for the next month or longer for someone to contact her, rationing her supplies or she could abandon the post and venture out into the savanna, hoping to find him or to find any sign of the other humans.

So she too packed a large bag full of as much of the rations as she could carry, plus her water purification tablets and any sort of communication device she could rummage up. She left messages all over the pod explaining the direction they were headed.

She just couldn't wait any longer. She had to know what was going on.

She slipped the mask over her mouth, stepped into the airlock, and then was back into the savanna.

  CHAPTER 3

She had been out on the plains before plenty of times, that was the only way to collect samples. She also knew that the air on the planet was breathable for humans, but somewhat thick. It was as if she were far below sea level. However, there was a sort of hallucinogenic substance to the atmosphere that would make it difficult to do her job. So she kept the breathing apparatus about her nose and mouth to keep from altering her mind. Because it was filtering her air, she did not need to carry oxygen with her on her journey.

She had put on her specialty goggles as well, they would keep the worst of the alien dirt from kicking up into her eyes as well as point out the way points she'd set up beforehand to walk towards. Her first stop was exactly the one she'd set up for Paul before he headed out. She aimed right at it.

It took nearly ten hours to cross the savanna and start climbing into the rocks. Her pace slowed down considerably then. She wished that the planet had a wee bit less gravity, it would make this much easier.

Finally, as dusk was beginning to fall, she reached the first way point. She wandered about, calling for Paul, finding no answer. But she found his ring of lights laying nearby. She shook it and lay it on the ground, offering a campfire like amount of light and warmth. She sighed.

Something must have happened to him, she decided. He would not have left his ring here.

Still she would continue on. What choice did she have? Maybe he'd left it behind.

She munched on a hard ration before finally wrapping herself in her sleeping bad and curling down on the cold rock to sleep. It was her first night sleeping out in the wilderness and she spent a long time staring out into the stars, thinking of home. Finally she drifted off.

The change in lighting must have awoken her. When she blinked into consciousness she saw a man, between her body and the ring of lights. She couldn't make out his features, he was all in darkness, his head drooping down.

  “Paul...?” She asked hesitantly.

Quicker than she could move the man was on top of her, pinning her down by her sleeping bag. She felt her mask being pulled from her mouth and nose and thrown to the side. She held her breath as long as she could, but the man was not moving. Finally she took a deep breath of the alien atmosphere and the man relaxed his grip.

  “Gabriela?” He asked, questioningly.

She nodded. “Please, hand me back my mask? We shouldn't breathe this air, you know what it's like!”

He arose, still straddling her but no longer pinning her with his upper body. The light shined on Paul. He looked strange, gaunt. His beard had grown longer and patchy. His eyes were haunted. He wore no mask.

He glanced to the mask for a long moment. He finally stood up and walked over to where he'd tossed it earlier.

“Yes, my mask! Please hand it back to me.” She urged.

He picked it up and looked at it confused. Then he looked back to her. He dropped it on the ground and crushed it under his boot.

Her eyes widened. This was far more serious than she'd expected.

She quickly divested herself of her sleeping bag and stood. “Alri
ght, Paul, now we don't have masks. Is that really what you wanted? Now we could risk losing our minds or...”

“Follow me.” he interrupted. He grabbed her by the arm hard and began walking into the mountains.

“Wait!” she shrieked. “We have to get all of our stuff, wait!” She struggled to break away from his grip.

He ignored her. He was far stronger than her. Now he seemed even stronger than before. He shook her whenever she tried to pull away. “I need to show you...” he'd begin, then trail off.

Though the air was filling her lungs, she was starting to feel lightheaded. The chemical that floated in their atmosphere was already making her more pliable. She stopped fighting him and let him guide her deeper and deeper into the mountain trail.

Full dark had fallen but the twin moons were luminous in the sky. When he finally stopped his brutal march into the mountain, they'd found themselves in a small hollow. It was flat but covered in these tall, thick trees.

He let go of his tight grip on her arm, and she rubbed it because she knew there'd be bruises. But the sight of these monstrous trees, the first she'd seen on this planet, took all the pain away. As a botanist, this was the equivalent of finding a dinosaur. She rushed towards them.

“Paul! They are amazing!” She quickly began to examine the closest one, running her hands along the bark, looking down to the soil.

He stood back, still in darkness, swaying slowly as he watched her. When she glanced back, she felt the hairs on the back of her neck begin to stand on end.

“You really have found quite a find, Paul. I'm very impressed,” She began.

“You haven't seen anything yet.” He said, his voice dark and full of need.

She heard a twig snap and turned to see the nearest tree swaying. It was odd, there was no wind. Behind her, the same sound began. Paul took a slow step towards her, his body still dark to her, his movements not quite human. She shuddered.

  “I don't understand, what..”

Suddenly it felt as if a whip hit her arm. A thin tree limb had actually come forth, snapping and curling along her arm, from the wrist all the way up.

The trees were moving on their own!

She shrieked and tried to pull away. The limb should have been so easy to break, but the strength that it contained was massive. She dug her other arm's nails into the first limb to try to pull it away only to have a second limb grab that had and jerk it away.

Paul's laughter rang in her ears.

She looked to him, fear written across her face. “What is going on? Are you controlling these creatures? Help me!”

He kept laughing, darkly. He kept his slow walk to her then reached out, laying a hand to her face. “They are aliens, my dear. They do not understand you. They only understand me.”

Another limb jerked out forcing itself into her boot. A second one joined it. Together they were able to yank it off her foot, the sock as well. A third branch quickly replaced the other two, worming it's way up her jumpsuit as the first two moved to remove her other shoe.

Her heart leapt to her throat. She knew that he wanted her and she wanted him, but it had been so long. Plus, this was really not what she expected. “This is how you get girls, Paul? Really? Tell them to let me go and I'll give you anything you want. Anything. I would have before but..”

  “No.”

She was stunned. “What do you mean? Please I'm scared...”

“No. I want to see what happens.”

The other boot had been removed and both branches wormed their way up her jumpsuit. She looked down and saw the creepy, knotty tentacles as they pushed deeper into her skin-tight clothing. Two more began from the opposite ends pushing down her short sleeves.

He cupped her face gently as the five tentacles made their way to her stomach, under her clothing. He leaned down and kissed her tenderly on the lips. She responded to his touch, heat growing between her legs.

It was at that exact moment that all five branches jerked outward, causing her entire jumpsuit to explode into pieces. He did not move, simply kept kissing her. Finally, his other hand moved down to cup one of her breasts and squeeze it, slowly flicking the nipple. While he did so, two branches whipped into her ankles and corkscrewed all the way up to her thighs.

He never stopped kissing her. His fingertips left her breast and trailed slowly down her stomach. Goosebumps rose where he touched. As he moved further, past her waist, the branches pinning her legs intrinsically pulled them apart. She knew then as he pushed his fingers down to her mound that he was controlling them.

They widened her stance even further as his finger began to massage her clit. She tried to turn away in embarrassment, but he tightened his grip on her jaw. A squeak of a moan escaped her lips. He pulled away enough to grin before resuming his exploration of her mouth with his tongue.

She felt her breath quicken. He was very good with his fingers. He moved his grip then so that a finger could slip inside of her, while his thumb kept up his ministrations. He slowly pulled his finger in and out.

While he worked, and she panted, another, larger branch whipped across her back. She shrieked in sudden pain, and he redoubled his efforts on her clit. Another slap, and another, each one causing her to shriek and leaving red marks along her rear.

“Just as I thought,” he whispered, between kisses. “You like pain with your pleasure.”

Another large tentacle wrapped around her midsection, circling nearly a dozen times. Two others kept their switching up on her rear and her upper thighs. Paul slipped another finger inside of her.

She felt the pressure building up inside of her. There was just so much going on. She was being pulled off of the ground, completely held in mid-air by the invasive tentacles. It made the fingers that he kept shoving into her that much deeper. She shuddered and finally could hold on no longer, She screamed aloud and exploded all over his fingers. He kept pumping them, furiously, in and out of her. Her body tried to hold on, to clutch hard onto his fingertips, but it throbbed and couldn't find purchase. All she could do was scream, held in the air by his invading fingers, and let the pleasure sink through her.

When finally she was able to stop orgasming, he pulled away from her and brought his fingers to his lips. He slowly sucked them dry.

“You taste better than I imagined. I only wish...” he trailed off then, shaking his head.

  “You wish...?” she prodded.

“I only wish that I could have taken you myself.”

She frowned and laughed then. She was still suspended in mid-air, though the spankings of her rear had stopped.

“What do you mean? Aren't we going to...?”

He sighed deeply and shook his head. “No, you are meant for other things.”

She laughed at his dramatic face. “What are you talking about? You just made me climax like I never have before. I can assure you I'd like to try again.”

“No, I've distracted you. It's the alien plant life we are here for, you and I.” The ground began to rumble below them. A giant tentacle exploded from the ground, blunted at the end but designed like a root. Around her others began to explode from the ground, as if the trees were trying to stand up and walk about.

“It's that alien life force that we expected”, he began, pacing once more. “We though there had to be some sort of intelligence here, did we not?”

She nodded to him, barely listening, watching the much larger root tentacles as they emerged and snaked along the ground, slowly, towards her. She tried to push her legs back together as they got closer, but the branches only forced her further apart.

“Right. There is. And it can communicate. When I left a week ago I stumbled upon this place. I thought, like you did, that we'd just found the first extraterrestrial grove.”

The main root finally lay in front of her, and began to push itself off of the ground. Like a cobra it rose until it was directly in front of her face. It wove back and forth as she watched, as if it were examining her.

  “But
it's more than that...” he continued. He adjusted himself, no doubt hard watching the trees hold her tight. “It can communicate with us, with me. Those root tentacles there? That's how. They use it to get inside your brain. To talk to you.”

“What does it want?” she shrieked, as it kept dancing in front of her. Finally the root seemed to separate, The bark peeling back like a flower. Inside the flower was a long, wet, green rod that looked for all she could imagine, a hard throbbing dick. Save for the lacking of a head, it even had veins that moved all the way down it. The hole at the top was already dripping with a white mucus that looked like nothing more than precum.

“Well, the creatures, you know, they're trapped. The roots have some ability to move independently, but they can't exactly walk, you understand.”
